Jake Troths "Material Things"

I styled a music video this past weekend with talented singer & song writer Graham Knox.  The director Damian Marcano also directed Jake Troths music video, "Material Things", which ultimately turned me on to the Knox project.

His management/branding company holds three great artists, Graham Knox, Jake Troth and Alex Goose.

The video paints a perfect picture for this song, casting couldn't have been better and the cinematography is superb.  Wardrobe options aren't as flashy as one would expect however it gives an estranged Royal Tenenbaum style to the story, which I love.

The Pussy & The Parakeet

Based on a true story..

About three weeks ago my little Hannibal Lecter, also known as my cat Ringo, caught me a special gift.  Unlike most of his thoughtful presents this one was very much alive & was not a lizard, rabbit, squirrel nor wild bird.

While watching a T.V. movie with my mother, Mister Ringo walked ever so casually into my bedroom carrying a squeaking parakeet in his jaws of life.  I chased the blood thirsty carnivore through the living room, used my forceful Middle Eastern voice and the feline finally released the live animal.  Huffing & puffing in fear, I set up a temporary home for the survivor, which ironically, was Mister Ringos cat kennel.

The lucky green, yellow & black Parakeet was not bleeding, limping or dying..the little booger was gunna make it!

I raced down to Petco, spent a solid $75.00 and built him some prime real-estate with food, water, beak stratching thing & cosmetic mirror.. all inclusive!

The next challenging task was naming him and yes, its a him, his beak is blue therefore birdie is a him.  Mother was insisting on naming him some generic name like Lucky or Angel but considering Mister "Ringo" found his new tweeting feathered friend, I decided his name should be something somewhat cohesive, musical & symbolic like Lennon, John Lennon.

But, as times gone by, Mister Lennon the bird hasn't lived up to his name so the temporary tag is Mister Parakeet.  Yes, lame, I know but I tend to build relationships fairly slowly, therefore time will tell what this Mister Parakeets name shall be.

Until then the pussy and the parakeet will have to become civil roommates.

Bar Bambino. The Mission. San Francisco, CA

Back in June..
On 16th between Mission & S. Van Ness lays a charming cafe & wine bar,
BARBAMBINO.

An airy outdoor/indoor ristorante offers mouth watering cheeses, home made pastas & a delicious selection of Italian wines.
There's a perfect out door patio in back however considering how cold it is during the month of June in San Francisco, my friends and I opted for the large indoor communal table, which was placed under a unique recycled wine bottle chandelier.
We started with a bottle of Pinot Noir and a meat-cheese plate.  Our second course included a combination of pastas, soups, and more pasta.. just look at the photos and salivate.
Barbambino is the perfect place to get a warm authentic Italian meal on a cold summer night in
San Francisco.

Fairfax Flea Fest! West Hollywood, CA

Another Sunday, another Sunday, how I love me some Sundaze.

Fairfax Flea Market happens every Sunday on Melrose and Fairfax.  I always find the best vintage jewelry, old sunglasses, boots, furniture, chachkis, salvaged photos, records and lots of inspiration.  Here are some photos I took from my last visit.
